KFC Style mashed Potato with sauce

My son always love KFC chicken drumlets and the mashed potato. I tried to recreate the mashed potato and the KFC chicken and was happy with the results. Mashed potato is actually very easy to prepare. I use the Russet variety of potato to make them. Silky smooth and  yummy mashed potato with the sauce can be made in less than half an hour.
Ingredients:
  • Russet Potato- 2 large
  • Butter- 60 grams(salted)
  • Milk- 1/4 cup
Method:
  • Pressure cook the potatoes cut into two with half cup of water.
  • Cook for two whistles and let switch off the flame.
  • Let it cook with the pressure built inside.
  • Remove the skin and grate to get a smooth paste. It will be hot and a bit difficult to handle.
  • Add the butter and mix well so that it gets melted with the heat of the potato.
  • Heat the milk and add to the mixture to get a silky smooth and thick paste.
Make the sauce while the potato is cooking to save time.

 Chicken flavored garlic sauce:
  • Chicken cube- 1/4
  • Garlic- 2
  • Soya Sauce- 1 tbsp
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Corn flour- 1 tbsp
  • Oil- 1 tsp
Method:
  •  Heat oil in a kadai and add grated garlic and fry till fragrant.
  • Add in the soya sauce and the corn flour mixed with 4 tbsp water.
  • When it thickens add in the chicken cube and the pepper powder.
  • Check for salt.
  • Pour two to three tablespoon of the sauce on top of a dollop of potato.
  • Enjoy!
